Well, now that trick-or-treating has turned into something that looks more like "turning tricks," my husband and I left our house to avoid Halloween completely. The Halloween before, I bought candy for the neighborhood kids only to end up dishing it out to full grown adults.
So this year, before it got dark, we headed for the hills - or for La Paz Mexican food and a movie, rather. On the way to the restaurant, we passed a twenty-something woman in her trampy outfit with her pimp-costumed boyfriend standing at a bus stop.
Me (to Husband): When I was a kid some kids dressed up like tramps, but the type of tramps that were hobos.
Husband (driving): Yeah, well now they're just hos with out the "bos."
Whatever they are, I don't feel like staying home to give them candy. Now margaritas, shrimp fajitas and a good movie is my new Halloween tradition.
