Pockets of green In the San Fernando Valley:
The rolling hills of Pierce College, where cows, geese, sheep, goats and horses meander. And there's the 50-year-old Red Barn feed store in Tarzana, where you can buy some baby chicks, a horse saddle and eat free popcorn while you shop. Not far away from the Red Barn and Pierce College is Melody Acres.
Yes, the valley has more mini-malls than I care for, but - if you look - there are still those spots of green which remain from the Valley's rural past.
